The Village Of Irvington

The Village of Irvington is located in the southwestern section of Westchester County, near the villages of Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry and Hastings on Hudson. Irvington has a population of approximately 6,600 and is in the Town of Greenburgh.

In the mid–nineteenth century, the residents of what was then known as Dearman voted to change the name of the village to Irvington in honor of famous American author Washington Irving, a resident of the village. A statue of Rip Van Winkle is still on Main Street.
